BEGIN TRANSMISSION.
THANK YOU.
for taking an interest in your survival.
THIS GUIDE HAS BEEN CREATED WITH THE INTENTION OF KEEPING YOU ALIVE. EDUCATION IS YOUR GREATEST WEAPON AGAINST THE RANKS OF THE UNDEAD (although hey, a shot to the head is decidedly pretty damned effective, too.) YOUR WILLINGNESS TO USE YOUR GREY MATTER IS WHAT SEPARATES YOU FROM THE LUMBERING RANKS OF THE RE-ANIMATED, SO LET'S GET YOU INTO SHAPE.

Well--if the lumbering movements, darkened sclera and decaying faces aren't enough, you're probably fucked anyways. Here is a list of zombie characteristics just in case you can redeem yourself.
They are largely guided by aggression to all other species and, of course--a hankering for human flesh. The zombies you will meet in the area surrounding Fritch are nothing like you've seen in a horror movie--they retain muscle memory and the ability to speak (yes, in more than grunts and groans.) The longer one is a zombie, the more developed he/she/it will become. A 'newborn' zombie will struggle to talk and will have awkward (if at all existent) motor function, but one that has been undead for a while can speak almost normally and can move pretty fast--making them infinitely more dangerous.
Animals can be used to detect zombie activity in an area--fur will bristle, fangs will extend, and low, guttural intonations are the first signs of incoming zombies. Face it--animal instincts are more reliable than human's, so please don't try to brush off Fido's mood shift because it very well may save your life. Even animals that largely prey on carrion will avoid the undead if they know what's good for them. While it is human flesh the undead ranks are attracted to, they will not hesitate--in an astonishing act of brutality--to snap the necks of birds that so much as rested on their shoulders. Some will decide that they are, in fact, up for a snack and ingest the poor thing.
Whole.
Just imagine what it will do to you.
BE ON YOUR GUARD, AND REMEMBER:
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "SAFE", ONLY "SAFER".
