NYX
The Nyx.. Probably the strictest, most military-orientated of all of the alliances. They rule with brute force and their tactics are simple: annihilate the enemy - "attack is the best form of defence". The Nyx have some of the best soldiers within their alliance, and it certainly shows on the battlefield. Whilst their tactics might not be as efficient or developed as the Koios, and they may not possess the empathy of the Inferi, their weapons are up to no match. To tackle the Nyx head-on in an unplanned attack would be suicide.
Internally, the Nyx are very much an autocracy; the leader rules through fear and intimidation and will not hesitate to kill one of his own to prove a point. However, it is this constant fear that moulds the Nyx, and makes them into the unrivaled killers that they are. They have one purpose: eradicate all zombies. However, with the other alliances, the Inferi and Koios running amuck and interfering with their plans, they are not one to say no to a battle - and soon the three alliances found themselves at war.

INFERI
The Inferi are possibly the hardest to generalize. The group is defined as 'pro-zombie'--but the views of the individuals here can vary rather drastically, and remain a source of tension within the faction. Most seem to have shared crippling losses in the past, having to watch friends and family become monsters, and perhaps it is in hopes of finding a cure and having their loved ones return that they desperately try to keep the undead ranks preserved. Every decaying, maladroit mass of limbs with a newly-acquired hankering for human flesh means something to someone. Of course--within the Inferi, you also have the fanatics. The extremists. The lunatics that would greet the undead with open arms, or offer themselves to the undead to avoid dealing with this a second longer. Maybe they see something in them that's worth accepting and attempting to craft this new society with? You'll have to ask these
One thing they do agree on is a desire for peace--and ironically, it has them taking up arms. The Inferi fall smack dab between the Nyx and the Koios in terms of tactics. They are decidedly more open-minded to the idea of felling people rather than zombies, and have taken on a duty of 'policing' their fair city against their fellow mortals--their methods being questionable at best.
KOIOS
The Koios the least violent of the three 'human' alliances, despite how much the Inferi wish for peace. Koios members are generally neutral and are pretty much indifferent towards the zombies - they neither love nor loathe them; if one is trying to eat their brains then they'll have no qualms shooting them, but they won't actively hunt them out in order to eliminate them, like the Nyx.
The Koios are a very logical, strategic group and their main priority is survival, rather than battling with the other alliances. Their indifference makes the Nyx and the Inferi look down on them as they are believed that they should 'take a side' in the matter, thus resulting in fighting between the Koios and the other groups. However, most of the Koios members see it as pointless - why should humans be destroying humans in such difficult times? The Koios believe that humans need to re-unite and frankly, they don't care what happens to the zombies - they just want things back the way they were.
OUTCASTS
These are exactly what the name implies - 'outcasts'. This group is less of a group of more of.. A bunch of loners. Each have their own reason, however: some have been cast out from their alliance, others simply come from other, totally destroyed towns and cities as the only survivor, some may have become isolated or lost in the confusion, and some are independent rebels who prefer to live the solitary life, wandering from town to town for a multitude of different reasons - each to their own.
This is a dangerous lifestyle to choose (or to be thrust into). You can't watch your own back, nor will you have any help when the zombies attack. And they will attack.
..And not just zombies. Alliances dislike these wanderers because they are seen to 'cause trouble' - many are theives and criminals who ransack deserted houses and steal from the alliances. The tension between the Nyx, Inferi and Koios has risen and, if you're found wandering out on your own, prepare to be shot.
ZOMBIES
Again, self-explanatory. These are the unlucky people who were once humans, but are now human-eaters. Yum, flesh. These unfortunate beings have either been transformed into zombies via the mutated strain of the ebola virus or through contact with a zombified being - be it due to carelessness of not wearing a mask outside and inhaling the virus, or whether it be the more unpleasant biting/scratching/skin-breaking contact that often occurs when ambushed by one of these creatures.
A 'newborn' zombie is easier to kill; they are slower and generally can hardly speak or even think clearly. Most of these are found wandering, aimlessly seeking out flesh and attacking anyone they come across like rabid dogs. Once this stage has passed, the zombie gradually becomes more 'developed' in time - they can move quicker and can think faster. Whilst you may think that the lumbering, mindlessly attacking newborns are more dangerous - rethink. Would you rather have a slow, disorientated and confused zombie lunging at you, or a long-time zombie running at you - one that has probably been watching you for the past ten minutes and planning your demise?
